At about 12:49 PM this afternoon, Sept. 6, 2004 (Labor Day) a problem with our core firewall appliance caused a large portion of our internal network to be unreachable. Because the monitoring system is behind this firewall, it was unable to alert me via pager in a timely fashion. At about 2:15 PM all services we restored. Thank you to those who called me at home
Customers who were connected during the outage reported some broken services like e-mail and web services. Customer who attempted to connect during this time received a password failure on connection.
