Anyone every play with Microsoft's UNIX TOOLS 3.5 for WIN2K?

Postby forhire » Wed Dec 08, 2004 2:47 am

I downloaded all 220 megs of unix support for Win2k that is suppose to provide a "real" access to Windows 2000 server. I really like the fact I might actually be able to use tools like grep, sed, awk and more. Has anyone actually installed this on a production machine?

Check it out here:

Your input would be great!

Installed it. After fighting to get the correct telnet daemon going. I was finally able to login. Clunky and very odd. I'm still trying to figure out how to restart services and such. Might work in a pinch but first impression are that it sucks. Maybe I'll have better praise after playing with it for a few days. Anything has to be better than VNC over a cellular connection...
